The Mario De Micheli Archive preserves the documentary legacy of Mario De Micheli, a prominent figure in twentieth-century Italian intellectual life. An art critic and historian, poet, and academic, De Micheli played an active role in interpreting and engaging with the principal artistic and cultural movements of his time.
The archive includes both personal and professional materials, offering a comprehensive account of his intellectual production and human experience. The documents are organized into four main series: Correspondence, Professional Activities, Professional Documentation, and Personal and Family Documentation.
The documentation covers an extensive time span—from the 1940s to the early 2000s—providing a valuable cross-section of Italian cultural history.
The archival inventory is currently available in paper format only and can be consulted on-site at the Archive, located in Palazzo Bassi Rathgeb, via Pignolo 76, Bergamo.
