Academic style

Academic writing has its own peculiar style, that you should use in your paper, thesis or article.  Here you can find a guide to academic publishing. It's written for medical researchers, but its principles can be used in every kind of paper.

In an academic publication, the main goals are:

  • to describe, in the clearest way, your research and achievements;
  • to show your methods as to allow others to reproduce your search;
  • to discuss your point of view and persuade of your opinion

Your paper must be written following a logical order, with these components:

  1. Abstract
  2. Index
  3. Introduction
  4. Methodology
  5. Results
  6. Discussion
  7. Conclusion
  8. References

Be careful about academic conventions in citing sources as to avoid plagiarism.
